Providing Educated Feedback on Service Providers

FinancialCurmudgeon.com (the “Grouch”) was borne first from a need to identify providers who “do things right”, not just for what they do, but how they do it. Ideally, if we all surrounded ourselves only with providers who did it right, we’d all be better off.

Our roots are financial in nature, as the founders are financial professionals with over 30 years of exposure to providers both directly and as consultants to businesses and individuals in business. We have however expanded this focus to include providers that, while not providing financial services, are either key providers to those in business or simply other types of providers that we all run across and use on a regular basis.

The Grouch has developed a proprietary scoring system which uses the key factors for doing it right:

·        The Basics – Do they do or provide what they say they do?

·        The Extras:

-         How customer-centric are they?

-         What was the customer experience?

·        The Value – Is the cost commensurate with what they provide?

and rates, then ranks them:

·        Overall;

·        Within a category in which they operate (Financial services, Key services, and Other services); and

·        Within the Community they serve

Initially we will be focusing on 2 Communities, Vancouver and Toronto, but as we grow will expand our services to other centres in Canada, and then on to the USA.

Our goal is twofold:

1.      To help you short list who you work with by using our scoring system; and

2.      To improve the level of experience we enjoy through exposure of both those who “Do It Right” and 

         why, along with those who “Do It Wrong” and why, fostering improvements overall.
